After long hours of studying and researching.. . it boiled down into two (thanks for your suggestion kuya dhagz).. .they both suit my needs.. . light, handy.. .good for traveling and low light areas.. . I just have little concerns though.. .
Nikon D60 - no live view feature, no built-in image stabilization but it has ISO 3200
Canon EOS 450D - has live view feature, built-in image stabilization but the ISO is only 1600
both have noise reduction in high ISO.
I think I can live with a DSLR with viewfinder alone, but I think it would be more beneficial if it has a live view feature (we'll never know when the need arises). Also, 450D is compatible with any brand of lens unlike Nikon. But the latter is cheaper.
hmmm.. . hmmm.. . hmmm.. . Lord help me decide. Whew!
I think I better visit Quiapo one of these days.. I've read that it's the "photographer's haven"
