I just thought of this while watching Wildlife For Sale (a documentary).. . God created everything -- humans, animals, nature -- for a purpose.. . We complement each other.. . Once there is a deficit, it will lead to destruction.
Why do people kill the wildlife and sell them? Because there's not enough job.. . Why is there not enough job? I don't know really.. . Can we blame the government? Because of corruption? I'm not sure.. . But most likely because there is imbalance somewhere.. . Someone or something is not doing his job.. . that causes an imbalance in the environment.
I remember my high school days.. .specially my biology class during second year.. .about ecosystem (is that under biology? right). Well as far as I can remember, there was once a discussion about balance in the environment. Are you familiar with the triangle with symbols on every corner? I can't remember well but if I remember it right, that talks about balance.. . Once you remove something from the environment, it will cause an imbalance (of course!). For example, if you kill all the cats in the world that eat mice, the mice will grow in number and destroy things and stuff because nothing can and will stop them. You see, no matter how insignificant something is, I believe it is still necessary.. . God would have not created it if it's purposeless.. .
Same thing with these animals.. . Upon hearing that someday we might not be able to see turtles or tortoise anymore makes me teary-eyed.. . What if my grand children would never know what turtles are? What if we could only see them on pictures? Definitely, man can never ever make another one. We can't recreate these things. And that's sad.
These animals are necessary.. . We benefit from them but not the benefit that we get after selling them. I believe they have been created for our own good as well. Besides, it's our task to become stewards not abusers. Yeah.. . that's the point. We do not live up to our purpose of becoming stewards that's why this is happening.. . And an even chaotic thing will happen if this will continue. When will human beings learn? Oh God.. . If only we realize the value of Your creations.. .
When we depart from the very reason He has created us for, we bring ourselves destruction.
