The Dilemma of Obedience

Samuel was afraid to tell Eli the vision —1 Samuel 3:15 God never speaks to us in dramatic ways, but in ways that are easy to misunderstand. Then we say, "I wonder if that is God’s voice?" Isaiah said that the Lord spoke to him "with a strong hand," that is, by the pressure of his circumstances ( Isaiah 8:11 ). Without the sovereign hand of God Himself, nothing touches our lives. Do we discern His hand at work, or do we see things as mere occurrences? Get into the habit of saying, "Speak, Lord," and life will become a romance ( 1 Samuel 3:9 ). Every time circumstances press in on you, say, "Speak, Lord," and make time to listen. Chastening is more than a means of discipline— it is meant to bring me to the point of saying, "Speak, Lord." Think back to a time when God spoke to you. Do you remember what He said? Was it Luke 11:13 , or was it 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ? As we listen, our ears become more sensitive, and like Jesus, we will hear

How Could Someone so Persecute Jesus!

Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? —Acts 26:14 Are you determined to have your own way in living for God? We will never be free from this trap until we are brought into the experience of the baptism of "the Holy Spirit and fire" (Matthew 3:11). Stubbornness and self-will will always stab Jesus Christ. It may hurt no one else, but it wounds His Spirit. Whenever we are obstinate and self-willed and set on our own ambitions, we are hurting Jesus. Every time we stand on our own rights and insist that this is what we intend to do, we are persecuting Him. Whenever we rely on self-respect, we systematically disturb and grieve His Spirit. And when we finally understand that it is Jesus we have been persecuting all this time, it is the most crushing revelation ever. Is the Word of God tremendously penetrating and sharp in me as I hand it on to you, or does my life betray the things I profess to teach? I may teach sanctification and yet exhibit the spirit of Satan, the very spiri

Look again and Think

Do not worry about your life . . . —Matthew 6:25 A warning which needs to be repeated is that "the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches," and the lust for other things, will choke out the life of God in us ( Matthew 13:22 ). We are never free from the recurring waves of this invasion. If the frontline of attack is not about clothes and food, it may be about money or the lack of money; or friends or lack of friends; or the line may be drawn over difficult circumstances. It is one steady invasion, and these things will come in like a flood, unless we allow the Spirit of God to raise up the banner against it. "I say to you, do not worry about your life . . . ." Our Lord says to be careful only about one thing- our relationship to Him. But our common sense shouts loudly and says, "That is absurd, I must consider how I am going to live, and I must consider what I am going to eat and drink." Jesus says you must not. Beware of allowing yourself

praising Him..

psalm 16 5LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, 10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful c one see decay. 11You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. psalm 17 7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings

Am I Looking to God?

Look to Me, and be saved . . . —Isaiah 45:22 Do we expect God to come to us with His blessings and save us? He says, " Look to Me , and be saved . . . ." The greatest difficulty spiritually is to concentrate on God, and His blessings are what make it so difficult. Troubles almost always make us look to God, but His blessings tend to divert our attention elsewhere. The basic lesson of the Sermon on the Mount is to narrow all your interests until your mind, heart, and body are focused on Jesus Christ. "Look to Me . . . ." Many of us have a mental picture of what a Christian should be, and looking at this image in other Christians’ lives becomes a hindrance to our focusing on God. This is not salvation— it is not simple enough. He says, in effect, "Look to Me and you are saved," not "You will be saved someday." We will find what we are looking for if we will concentrate on Him. We get distracted from God and irritable with Him while He continues t

Vision and Darkness

When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him —Genesis 15:12 Whenever God gives a vision to a Christian, it is as if He puts him in "the shadow of His hand" ( Isaiah 49:2 ). The saint’s duty is to be still and listen. There is a "darkness" that comes from too much light-that is the time to listen. The story of Abram and Hagar in Genesis 16 is an excellent example of listening to so-called good advice during a time of darkness, rather than waiting for God to send the light. When God gives you a vision and darkness follows, wait. God will bring the vision He has given you to reality in your life if you will wait on His timing. Never try to help God fulfill His word. Abram went through thirteen years of silence, but in those years all of his self-sufficiency was destroyed. He grew past the point of relying on his own common sense. Those years of silence were a time of discipline, not a period of God’

choose to look at the bright faces

i remember a tip when you're standing in front of the congregation, or speaking in a conference, or teaching to a class... you should always look at the bright faces... those who are listening, smiling... looking at you... those faces encourage you... those faces makes you want to go on... ^_^ same with what we should do in this world... where we face many faces every day... some may give you a genuine smile.. some may hug you... others may not treat you fairly... but whatever happens, ALWAYS CHOOSE TO LOOK AT THE BRIGHT FACES - those whose smiles are really coming from the heart... those hugs that are genuine... those faces that encourages you... makes you want to go on.... always choose to look at those faces... then you can face another day... thanks for those bright faces... i'm really blessed!!! ^_^ i love those people ^_^

when the people are frustrating...

don't get frustrated.. ^_^ it will start by understanding yourself first... realizing that indeed you are frustrating sometimes... you are not perfect.. you commit mistakes too... you're not righteous.. you're a sinner... not just knowing it.. but realizing it... feeling it in your heart... and then eventually, you will learn how to accept people... their mistakes... their flaws.. what they need is love... not indifference... ^_^ what they need is encouragement ... not discouragement ^_^ you need not treat them harshly or react in a way that will make others stumble... you have to receive first from the Greatest Lover Himself... and then you can give.. if not, the "love from Him" that you're showing is questionable... ^_^ attitudes matter... ^_^

a different kind of love...

from the Greatest Lover Himself... ^_^ God is just so great that in every situation you are in, whether you're feelin' good about yourself or others treat you with indifference... you'll still be reminded that GOD is LOVE... HE loves you unconditionally... ^_^ have you experienced a point in your life wherein you wanted to do something but He won't allow it even though it's the desire of your heart... but it's for your own good... that's how He tells you He loves you... sometimes we have decisions to make... we're hard headed.. but God's will prevails... hehe.. minsan naiisip ko parang Lord, sana di na lang ganun.. sana katulad na lang ng ibang tao na parang walang pakelam... pero hindi... GOD WILL CONTINUE TO WORK OUT HIS PLANS IN YOUR LIFE BECAUSE HE WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU... His will prevails... He will be persistent enough to insist how much He loves you... until you respond.. ^_^ and I'm experiencing that right now... feeling so much patienc

The Voice of the Nature of God

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ’Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ —Isaiah 6:8 When we talk about the call of God, we often forget the most important thing, namely, the nature of Him who calls. There are many things calling each of us today. Some of these calls will be answered, and others will not even be heard. The call is the expression of the nature of the One who calls, and we can only recognize the call if that same nature is in us. The call of God is the expression of God’s nature, not ours. God providentially weaves the threads of His call through our lives, and only we can distinguish them. It is the threading of God’s voice directly to us over a certain concern, and it is useless to seek another person’s opinion of it. Our dealings over the call of God should be kept exclusively between ourselves and Him. The call of God is not a reflection of my nature; my personal desires and temperament are of no consideration. As long as I dwell on my own qualities and tr

board exam on november...

huhu... that's what the memo from PRC says... *_* the graduates of March 2008 will take the board exam on November 29 and 30 2008... but there will also be a board examination this June 1 & 2... for re-takers... they'll prioritize the re-takers because they are expecting 80,000 to 100,000 examinees because last June board, almost 80, 000 nursing graduates took the board exam ... [but as far as i can remember, the percentage of those who passed is not even equal to 50 per cent...] so, almost 50,000 will re-take the board exam... on the contrary, the decision that has been made is somewhat advantageous... you can still prepare for the board exam.. ^_^ you still have 8 months ... hehehehe... but then, it's like sayang yung oras... imbis na makakapag-work ka na that time, next year pa pwede =) but i believe God has His own reason why He allowed this to happen ^_^ let His will be done... i don't know what to do yet... but surely, i'll be having a vacation this summe
